Phu Quoc is two price levels on one island. Eating at local stalls and getting around by Grab is cheap. The theme parks, the cable car and the big resorts charge close to international prices, and the resort extras add up fast. Seafood is the other place a bill climbs. Phu Quoc Island Guide puts a seafood restaurant meal at 300,000–500,000 ₫ a person, and crab at 200,000–600,000 ₫ a kilo depending on type and season. Prices are by weight, so ask for the price per kilo and watch it weighed.

A JW Marriott breakfast (900,900 ₫) costs about as much as 15 to 30 bowls of street noodles at the prices above. A 0 ₫ transfer at Seashells and Salinda means Agoda lists the transfer as free. “Not listed” means the hotel doesn’t publish the charge, so ask. Agoda shows the live nightly rate for your dates. When prices go up
- High season: December to April is dry and busy, and Phu Quoc Island Guide found rooms roughly double in high season. The busiest weeks are Christmas, New Year and Tet. See the best time to visit Phu Quoc.
- Peak-week problems: Thanh Niên reported in January 2026 that some visitors who had booked online arrived to find no room. In February 2026 the special zone set up a 24-hour rapid-response team for tourist complaints about prices and service (Tuổi Trẻ, via Phu Quoc Island Guide). Book with a cancellation policy and keep your confirmation.
- Menus: shops and restaurants must display prices, so check the menu before you order.
Money tips
- Cash: resorts, theme parks and most tourist-area restaurants take cards, but markets, street food, small seafood places and beach vendors want cash.
- ATM fees: most banks charge foreign cards around 50,000 ₫ a withdrawal, with a 2–5 million ₫ limit each time.
- Mobile data: about 150,000–250,000 ₫ for a month.
